PointsBet, Caesars, BetFred, Bet365, and SuperBook Approved for Sports Betting by Ohio Regulator

Commission also revealed that over 800 Type C sports betting licenses now approved.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) has approved five applicants for sports gaming service providers licenses following its monthly meeting.

PointsBet, Caesars, Betfred, bet365, and SuperBook Sports all received unanimous approval by the OCCC for sports betting service provider licenses. Representatives of each company were in attendance to hear the announcement.

During the meeting, the OCCC also approved U.S. Integrity Inc. for a sports betting integrity monitor license.

The news follows the recent announcement that the commission approved over 300 sports betting licenses including licenses for three professional sports teams. A further 37 applicants for Type C sports betting licenses were also approved and added to the OCCC’s list. This brings the total number of approved license to over 800 locations some of which are supermarkets.

Another six applicants were approved for sports gaming suppliers licenses. The successful applicants were Angstrom Sports, Amelco UK Limited, Marown Limited, NeoGames Solutions, Novomatic Americas Sale, and SG Gaming.

The meeting also saw the OCCC approve the final filing of sports gaming rules and regulations. These will become effective on October 15th.

The new rules will allow additional Type A sports gaming proprietor licenses alongside new wager rules and regulations on tickets, reserves funds, sports governing body data requests, promotions and bonuses, and patron complaints among others.

The final commission-approved versions of responsible gaming plans, house rules, facility plans, required procedures, geolocation procedures, and equipment test reports are now due on November 2nd. Employee applications must also be handed in by that date to ensure that all staff are properly trained once legal sports betting in Ohio launches on January 1st, 2023.
