The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has revoked DGV Entertainment Group's licence after the operator failed to pay the required licence and compliance fees.
The permission that allowed DGV to operate the AurumPalace and FlipperFlip brands has now been revoked by the authorities.
In its decision, the MGA stated that DGV had violated a number of regulations, including Regulation 3 (1)(b) of the Gaming Licensing Costs Regulations, which stipulates that licensees must pay established licence fees.
The MGA stated that DGV has not yet paid the €25,000 (£20,901/$25,484) licence cost for the period between 23 November 2021 and 22 November 2022, leaving the operator in violation of the rules.
DGV was also found to be in violation of Regulation 3 (1)(a) and Regulation 6 of the Gaming Licence Fees Regulations for failing to pay the regulator the required compliance contribution fees. The MGA reported that a total of €10,333 is owed for the period between December 2021 to the present.
In addition, the regulator said that DGV violated Article 41 (2)(a) of the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance Directive (Directive 3 of 2018) by failing to submit a set of audited financial accounts for the period from January 2020 to December 2020 within the stipulated 180-day timeframe.
In addition, DGV was determined to have violated Article 41 (1) of the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance Directive by failing to file interim financial accounts for the period between 1 January 2021 and 30 June 2021 by the deadline of 30 August 2021.
DGV has 20 days as of today (4 August) to react to the judgement with a reason why the MGA should not terminate the licence. If this request is not met, the licence will be revoked.
