Asianlogic Confirms Sale of Asian Poker Tour

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has announced plans for expansion following its sale to a newly formed business entity called APT Events Private Limited.

The sale ends the tour’s long-held association with previous owner Asianlogic Group Company. As a result of the deal, APT CEO Jeff Mann will step down so that he can retain his position with Asianlogic.

However, Mann will remain as a consultant for APT throughout the transition period.

Speaking of the change of ownership, Mann said:

“FOR SOME TIME NOW, WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING TO PASS APT TO A DEDICATED AND FOCUSED POKER ORGANIZATION THAT IS CAPABLE OF TAKING THE TOUR TO THE NEXT LEVEL. WITH SUCH A LONG AND RICH TRADITION, IT WAS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT ANY PARTNERSHIP OR SALE WOULD ONLY GO TO AN ORGANIZATION WITH THE SAME PASSION AND DEDICATION TO CONTINUE DEVELOPING THE ASIAN POKER TOUR AS WE ALWAYS ENVISIONED. FRANKLY, I’M PUMPED UP BY WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR APT.”

According to the announcement, Lloyd Fontillas will remain in his position as General Manager & Executive Tour Director and will be given further responsibilities as a result of Mann’s departure.

Renowned Malaysian poker player Michael Soyza is involved with new owner’s APT Events Private LTD. Soyza said of the deal and Mann’s departure:

“JEFF AND LLOYD HAVE DONE A TREMENDOUS JOB OF BUILDING THE APT TO WHERE IT IS TODAY. ALL THE STAKEHOLDERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, HAVE BEEN ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS ON THE APT FOR OVER A DECADE. WE ARE BEYOND EXCITED TO WORK WITH THE TEAM AND HOPE TO REACH NEW HEIGHTS AS WE USHER IN A NEW ERA FOR THE ASIAN POKER TOUR.”

The APT was originally formed in 2008 and recently brought its 12-day APT Philippines event to a close. It will now head to Vietnam for the APT Vietnam Hanoi Loyal 2022.
