Online gambling income in Delaware hit a new high in July, despite the state's struggling sports betting sector.
Igaming revenue totaled $1.25 million (£1.06 million/€1.25 million). exceeding the previous monthly high of $1.22 million achieved in April of this year.
The July amount was also 58.1% greater than $793,017 in the same month last year, and 12.1% higher than $1.1 million in June of this year.
Total revenue for the month was $1.0 million from online video lottery, $165,378 from table games, and $43,944 from poker rake and fees.
Players spent $39.4 million on online gambling, including $26.8 million on video lottery and $12.6 million on table games.
Delaware Park led the igaming sector with $377,753 in income from $16.2 million in wagers, followed by Bally's Dover on $377,753 from $12.9 million and Harrington Raceway on $332,904 from $9.8 million in wagers.
In terms of sports betting, income for the month was $383,249, a 27.5% decrease year on year but an 80.1% increase over the $212,768 earned in June of this year.
Consumers wagered $2.7 million on sports in July, a 5.0% decrease from $3.6 million in July of last year and a 22.9% decrease from $3.5 million in June 2022. This was also the lowest monthly total in 2022 thus far.
Delaware Park also topped the sports betting market, earning $203,322 from $1.4 million in wagers. Bally's Dover came in second with $93,683 in revenue from a $668,294 handle, followed by Harrington Raceway with $86,725 from a $579,359 handle.
